A morning practice recently allowed an afternoon off for me to visit one of my favorite places in the world.  The mountains.  Storms had been working their way through the valley all morning so by the time I reached 6000ft it was clearly snowing… not just the dusting that melts away as soon as it touches the ground, but the wonderful kind that sticks to the trees, fenceposts, and parked cars; the kind you can form into a snowball and throw at your baby brother!  It was all together wonderful!  We spent the afternoon amongst the trees and falling flakes and just about the time we were ready to say goodbye to the mountainside the clouds started to clear away leaving one of the most breathtaking sunsets I have ever seen.  I sat and watched as God painted the sky with brushstrokes paralleled by none.  This is what came to mind:

“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
